Toowoomba, Caboolture and Gympie - 28/02/2023 to 08/03/2023

We arrived in Toowoomba a day ahead of Terry and Kim to visit our Aunty Bet, Therese and Wayne and family.  Hannah if you're reading this, sorry we missed you.

Aunty Bet is Terry's and my aunty on our mother's side.  Nearing 90, she's looking well and always a fountain of knowledge on family history - we call her 'the Oracle'.

We spent 3 days of nostalgic conversations, catching up and trimming my family tree data.  Also fixed her stove and microwave.

It's always great to catch up with the Casey/Little clan in Toowoomba and talk about old times from our childhood in Clermont.  I really appreciate life's hardships our preceding generations endured in the early to mid 1900's.

We'll see the Toowoomba family again later in the year en-route to Tassie.

Then we headed off down the range and cut off at Gatton on to meet up with Peter and Sue in the semi-rural surrounds of Caboolture.  Peter has just been through some major surgery on his spine and on track to recovery.

Scott and Bree and the kids

David and Thomas

On Sunday morning we were joined by David, Kelly, Thomas, Scott and Bree and family for smoko - So we grabbed some obligatory family photos.

Onwards and geographically upwards, the convoy trucked on to the Malcomson Farm just ouside urban Gympie.  Troy and Fiona hosted us for one night and Terry and Kim headed off homewards after a cuppa break.  Next morning, I grabbed a few shots around the farm at dawn as 'Rusty' (the rooster) provided backing vocals.

It's been great catching up with family on this trip as we now make our way homewards with a few planned stopovers along the way.

See y'all soon!
