Longer drive today as we make our way to our rendezvous with the kids tomorrow.
We set out early to beat the traffic around the outskirts of Sydney but the traffic was fine. We chose a path of least resistance and took all the motorways. Got stung by the tolls - over a period of 5 minutes, we forked out $70 but it was worth it for the no-stress route.
It was a scenic drive through some beautiful country. We pulled up stumps about 2:00pm at a free camp for the night just off the Monaro Highway - Numeralla River Rest Stop, about 20 km short of Cooma.

I think we're in for our first cool night of the trip - Expected low is 13 deg but I think we might get lower than that!
It's quite a picturesque little spot on the banks of the Numeralla River which spurs off the Murrumbidgee less than 1 km upstream.
